Simone Petacchi studied Classics and Egyptology at the University of Pisa and Liverpool, and earned a PhD in Egyptology and Nubian Cultures in Lille. He has collaborated with museums and institutions in Italy, Switzerland, Sudan, and France. He published a catalogue of Pharaonic artefacts at the Accademia dei Concordi in Rovigo (2012), co-authored entries in All Things Ancient Egypt (2019), and is co-authoring a forthcoming monograph on unpublished Egyptian coffins at the Stibbert Museum, Florence.
